Famous American actor, comedian, writer, and producer Paul Reubens was best known for playing Pee-wee Herman. His publicist announced his loss on September 3, leaving fans and coworkers in sadness for a talented person who had made so many people laugh and smile with their distinct personality and sense of humour.

Paul Reubens was born in Peekskill, New York and raised in Sarasota, Florida where his early exposure to comedy was inspired by its winter home of Ringling Bros. & Barnum Circus in Sarasota. At six grade Reubens made his stage debut and found his passion for acting – later earning recognition as “Most Talented” student during senior year.

Reubens joined The Groundlings, an esteemed Los Angeles improv group, after college to create his most memorable character: Pee-wee Herman. “The Pee-wee Herman Show” premiered at The Groundlings Theatre before moving on to The Roxy on Sunset Strip for five months – reaching national renown when HBO broadcast it nationwide.
